President's message

Dear Colleagues,

Association of Romanian Engineers in Ontario (AREC) is a non-for-profit organization. AREC represents thousands of Romanian engineers in Canada, promotes their contributions to the success of Canadian economy, and establishes relationship with other technical and professional organizations.

Our members are mostly from the Greater Toronto Area, but we also have members in the Kitchener-Guelph-Waterloo-London, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver areas.

Our mission and objectives are:
- To promote the common interests of Romanian Engineers in Canada.

- To promote fellowship including recreational and social activities among members and other associations. 

- To assist individuals of Romanian background who want to become Professional Engineers in Ontario.

- To encourage experienced professionals to act as mentors to new immigrants and to assist in enhancing their educational and personal development.

We also strive to provide other services to our members, such as:
- Assisting new immigrants in adapting to their new environment, providing them with necessary information about Canadian society, law, and work culture, and assisting them with their job search and the PEO licensing process.

- Generating means of networking among our members to meet each other, share their business ideas, and discuss technical subjects.

- Organizing social activities such as annual galas and picnics, to create an environment for our members and their families to enjoy their leisure time.
