Biography: George Jucan is well known in the project management community as a successful IT project management consultant, captivating speaker at public events, motivating trainer and author of high-impact project management articles. George has over 20 years of technical and management experience in complex environments, both in public and private sector. He provides consulting services in methodology definition and capability assessment, business reengineering and organizational restructuring, projects audit and recovery, as well as hands-on management of projects. Many of his projects won provincial and national awards and/or were profiled in specialty magazines. A renowned expert in standards and methodologies, George is leading the Canadian Advisory Committee for ISO standardization activities as the Chair of the CAC/ISO/TC258 - "Project, programme and portfolio management" that will continue the activity of the CAC/ISO/PC236 - "Project management" (the upcoming ISO 21500 project management standard) where he currently acts as Vice-Chair. Within PMI, George Jucan is currently a member of the Core Team for the upcoming PMBOK® Guide 5th Edition. His previous leadership activities in PMI Standards Committees include PMBOK® Guide 4th Edition, PMCDF - 2nd Edition, and Government Extension to the PMBOK® Guide - 3rd Edition. He is also the Chair of PMI Information Systems SIG, as well as a Board member of PMI Southern Ontario Chapter.
