Marisa is a passionate leader and visionary with proven competencies in change management and governance. She is currently managing the enforcement efforts at Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), working with the Ontario government, industry and universities to improve workplace safety. She has a mandate to investigate cases of practice and title violation in order to proactively serve and protect the public interest. Marisa also leads the engineering profession's not-for-profit foundation as its elected President, funding over $100,000 in scholarships for close to 90 students each year across Ontario.

Marisa is a collaborator with colleagues, who creates focused, motivated and aligned organizational teams. Marisa formerly worked in the consumer products industry for 15 years moving from research and development to manufacturing, followed by supply chain management and procurement, and finally to customer marketing management and brand management handling budgets over $90 million.

Marisa is an inspiring public speaker and dedicated community engager. She came second as a candidate in the 2011 provincial election and seeks to be the first female engineer elected in Ontario. She has been President and Area Governor of a Toastmasters International Club, President of her Condominium Corporation and keynote speaker to women and youth. She was a Director for the Canadian National Exhibition, Chair of its Youth Advisory Group and a Director for the Anglican-United Refugee Alliance, a private refugee sponsorship facilitator. Currently she is Member of University of Toronto Engineering's Awards Committee and Member of PEO's Sterling Award committee, an award inspired by the vision of her late father, a PEO and Engineers Canada President.

Marisa is also an avid scuba diver and yoga instructor.
