The Federal Internship for Newcomers (FIN) Program, delivered through the Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), is designed to provide eligible newcomers with the opportunity to gain valuable Canadian work experience within the federal government for a specified period of time.

The FIN Program is open to permanent residents and Canadian citizens who have been in Canada less than 10 years.

Positions may include:
Positions will be identified according to the needs of hiring departments, agencies and crown corporations.
Program/Policy/Research:

• Program officer
• Policy Analyst /Research Analyst

University Degree and/or Master Degree in: Economics, Sociology, Statistics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Law and International Relations

Administration:

• Administrative Assistant
• Clerical Support

Secondary school diploma; University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or Administrative Services


Information Technology:

• Computer Programmer/ System Support

Post-secondary educational program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management. Specializations: Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Technician, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Development and Engineering, Systems Science and Analysis or Web Development and design. Bachelor degree in Computer Science

Science, Science and Technology, Natural Resources Scientist

University Degree and/or Master Degree in: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce or Economics. Asset: Accounting designation (i.e. CA, RIA/CMA or CGA)

Commerce:

• Commerce Officer:

A Bachelor Degree in a science or engineering field linked or covered by the Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program, such as physics, chemistry, biology, earth sciences, mathematics and computer science, as well as their subfields. A Master's in a science or engineering field
